Band trip to Penang

Took 5.30pm bus and reached penang sg nibong bus station after sum 5 hour sleep. Then, took a RM30 taxi from sg nibong to pulau tikus, to deborah's house. she's kind to provide us room to stay, for FREE!! yeah!!

the 1st nite, after the late 11pm lunch, we went out to have a walk and to the mini mart. haoto's fren huiling den came and bring us to the seaside to feel the night sea breeze. we walk home while taking sum random shots.

the 1st nite was sum late rehearsal and run thru with sum songs, seikan was staying up late with his PSP. we're asif dint had enuf sleep from the long bus hours, haoto stayed up late again, wonder if she's too excited haha

woke up around 9.30am, went to coffee beans for breakfast, grap a morning latte and sum sandwiches. den start cam-whoring again, keke. stay for over 2 hours til noon. raven's tuna sandwich came late, so wen i went up the kitchen to check up...to find 4 staff inside the kitchen to handle a little tune sandwich, omg, sum high tech tuna sandwich ya.

deborah came back by noon and drop us at padang kota lama with her big 4wd. we reached padang kota lama by 1.3opm. the 1st band "free to fall" hit stage soon after. you can check them out at freetofallmusic.blogspot.com or even myspace.com/freetofallmusic

so the weather was...very very very very very very HOT!!! and its so hot, there's so little crowd, there's only the crew, the other band to perform next, fellow organisers, and some PS gamers at the gamer's booth. we hide ourself under the shade.

the weather was so hot, hiding in the shade dint help much, we're dehydrated/drained-out after 2hours of waiting for our slot. the public toilet opposite the field, however was very cooling haha. so we waited patiently for our turn. listenin to metal bands in the early noon feels quite weird.

we hit the stage soon after, was very tired and exhausted, perform 4 songs instead of 6 as we decided, cz we're tired and the organiser was runnin over thir schedule. they provide sum gud amps, JCM2000 DSL 4x12, Hartke 1000w tube head +hydrive 4x10 and 1x15, MesaBoogie TripeRectifier, Roland 4x12 (for keyboard) and the drums, SX skin but it looks like a yamaha.

laying down the pedals, plug-in the bass, and turn-UP the volume, it BLOW me away!!! so much warmth and sparkle from the hydrive-bass-stack. Hydrive is such a suprise to me. it sounds reli gud, no wonder, victor bailey and wooten turned to hartke. the 100w tube head sounds so nice, arhz, im melting.

had dinner in gourney plaza chilis' after tat, stuff our stomach full, and went back to sleep. recharging ourselves before hitting padang kota lama again for "altered frequency" (they're on myspace too)

altered frequency gave me sum new inspirations, they're gud, nice groovey songs and nice funky guitar licks. and to find that you wil SURELY find a reggae band out of each gig with malays, malays love reggae ya haha. and watch once-buck-short live for the 1st time, they're better in live, you can feel the energy!!!


Punisher series: Penang Zone

sunday morning, had breakfast with huiling, and she was so skind to fetch us all around for the whole day, so nice of her :) thx alot to deborah and huiling alot. reached KL under heavy rain, and had dinner in haoto's mom place. a long 3-day trip. sleepz.....
